This weekend has gone by way too quickly. It seems like I just got here and now I have to leave tonight. But on the bright side, I’ve gotten to the beach a couple times and to see a couple people from when I lived here. All in all, it’s been a great weekend. Of course, it’s nice to be able to fly back to Atlanta instead of having to drive.
My body’s rather sore and worn out. I’ve spent a couple days in the sun …

I left for work right around the normal time this morning and ended up getting here at about 6:45, at which point, it became fully apparent to me that the building doesn’t open until around 7. So I sat outside for a couple minutes and one of the guys that works in the building showed up and let me in. I guess a lot of people are taking the day off work for travel purposes. I, however, am not as lucky. I get to work a …

Bert sent me this article this morning, which is a surprisingly nice way to start off a workday as opposed to jumping right in to the grind, but I just thought I’d share it with all my car people out there:

Last weekend during a practice lap at Mid-Ohio Raceway the 009 Aston Martin ALMS went airborne off the track and “flew” 142 feet before landing off the track in the dirt. The track was …

I’m going home to Virginia Beach this weekend for the first time since Christmas, which really, has been way too long. So for one, if anyone that reads this is in Virginia Beach and wants to see me in the couple days I’m there, please let me know. I’ll be driving up and flying back. Strange, I know, but believe me when I say that it all makes perfect sense. It’ll be a good break from Atlanta for a couple days and hopefully I can just …

The weekend has been pretty nice so far. Last night I went to see The DaVinci Code with Lindsay, Matt, Quiggle, and Heather. It was a good time and the movie really wasn’t bad. I only made it about a third of the way through the book, so I guess now I need to go back and finish the rest of it. As for today, I spent some time working with the plants. The cucumbers and tomatoes are both flowering now and there are a …

Well, the projector came in the mail today and overall I’m very happy with it so far. I spent a little time playing around with it and trying some different settings on it. I’ve decided that it is more than good enough to host movie nights so that plan is definitely a go now. I sent out a preliminary email to most of the people that I could think of to invite at first. If you’d like to come and I didn’t email you about it, …

Here’s the plan. I’m in the process of acquiring a projector to use in my finished basement instead of a TV. If all goes as planned with that, I should have it in the next couple of weeks, but the basement is obviously far from finished. So, in the meantime, I’m going to start hosting movie nights at my house once a week (right now it’s looking like Wednesdays are the top choice for people, but this may change once I can talk to more people). …

As promised, here is the Bulldozer Theory that I have so intuitively developed over the past couple of days driving on 400 to and from work. As a brief overview, the Bulldozer Theory, as stated in my posting from yesterday tries to figure out why a bulldozer causes a traffic backup, even when in the median of the interstate. The problem I experience is that traffic will crawl at 5-10 mph down the interstate, but the second you pass the bulldozer that’s in the median of the road, …

Ok, so I’ve been complaining about a lot lately it seems, and today’s no different. I’m really not a bitter or angry person, I promise, it just provides the easiest stuff to write about. But anyways, on to my gripe of the day.
What is the fascination people have with a bulldozer?! It seems that half of my traffic troubles on the way to work are caused by one single bulldozer. Now I can understand this being the case if the bulldozer was out in the middle …

Ok, so I officially dislike being a commuter. It has become quite obvious to me that I took the 7 minute drive to INPO for granted. Today’s drives have been my longest so far for the new job. The trip to work took about 75 minutes and the trip home took 95. The day becomes substantially shorter when you spend 3 hours of it (in addition to the time you spend at work) driving back and forth. It wouldn’t be so bad if I was …
