Randomness, Rants »

Once again, Comcast has left us without the internet so I’m writing this post in Notepad for later usage.  My gripes for Comcast today are however overshadowed by my complaints against the shipping services that we have.
First, there’s UPS.  About a month ago, they were supposed to deliver my computer case.  Now I understand that they have policies, but sometimes I get a little frustrated about that.  On the day they were delivering all my stuff, they delivered $600 worth of computer parts while I was at work, and had …

Sorry for the delay in updating, but I’ve just been keeping rather busy with work and life and all of that good stuff. I’ll do my best to give a decent update without writing a book (which shouldn’t be too difficult since I haven’t done much that was interesting recently).
This weekend turned out pretty well. Friday night, I fell asleep on the couch at about 10 and that was the end of that. Saturday I went to Drift Fury with Lindsay, Sean, Dana, Lance, and Tressa. …

So I have that little photos link at the top of the page here that I’ve been meaning to finish for awhile now. I just need to find the time to sit down and work on it. The photo gallery link on the site will probably be undergoing a lot of changes soon too. Coppermine (the gallery I’m using now) is causing me a lot of problems so I’m looking to move my pictures onto some other software. And then, taking a previous suggestion to heart, …

I came home from work yesterday to a pile of boxes on the porch. FedEx and UPS were good to me for once. So overall, it was kind of like a mid-summer Christmas for me. Except that I had to pay for all the stuff in the first place, but oh well, it’s better than nothing. I got a few of the things I need to work on my brakes. Now all I’m missing is the brake pads. Something tells me I’m going to …

So bugs creep me out. That’s not exactly an unknown fact to anyone that’s ever seen or heard about my little spider incident in the basement. (summary: huge spider + jonathan = me screaming like a little girl while running around the house) Anyhow, at the same time, they also intrigue me in that I like to try to take pictures of them. They’re not the most cooperative creatures in the world when it comes to photography though: they move a lot, they don’t respond to …

Well the Tiburon’s finally getting new brakes all around. I ordered Hawk HPS brake pads today as well as a few other things to take care of the pistons in the calipers. I’ll probably get around to finishing that all up in a couple weekends once everything gets here. I may go with new rotors as well depending on the condition of the current ones but I need to take a look about that one. I’m going to paint my calipers too while I have everything …

Well, Jen said more pictures, so instead of going back through the old posts and adding pictures where they’re needed, I’m just going to make a new post with them all. I did put a picture of the entertainment center up in the last post though. So here we go…
The backyard garden continues to grow and take over the deck. The top row is the cucumbers, the middle row is the tomatoes, and the bottom row has the peppers and the romas.Â

The drywall crew …

I finally (read: 10.5 months after moving in) got around to getting an entertainment center to contain the jumble of wires that have served as decoration for my living room. Everything pretty much still works when I put it back together so that’s a success in my book. I only had a few extra wires and things when I was done.

The weekend was a good time. Lindsay and I spent a lot of time at the pool in the neighborhood; meeting the neighbors, getting some sun, pretending …

I haven’t had internet service at home since Tuesday night. Now to a Tech student, this pretty much translates to the end of the world as we know it. So maybe all the people that predicted that armageddon would come to us on 06/06/06 were right, just in a much different form, disguised as the removal of my internet connection. In abbreviated form: Comcast needs to get their act together. Every week, there’s at least one day where I either don’t have internet or my internet …

That’s right folks! It’s movie night yet again. It definitely gives me something to look forward to in an otherwise-dragging along day. This week’s genre is action and the movie selection is Die Hard. Nobody had any objections to it, so there it is. But start thinking of movies for next week, or a genre to choose from at least.
My house may be a construction site for movie night depending on how long it takes since the plumbers, drywall people, and painters are all converging upon …
