Weekend Recovery

19 July 2006 Comments

It’s been a few days since I had the chance to write anything. Pretty much, I’ve been exhausted and worn out since the weekend thanks to the wonderful Atlanta heat. I really had a great time this weekend though so it all balances out.

Saturday was the third round for Drift Fury up at Turner Field so Brooke and I went to take pictures and try dodging out-of-control cars. For most of the day, it was unbearably hot. It poured rain in the middle of the afternoon, but other than that, it went pretty well. I’m still going through the pictures to pick out the ones I like best for my gallery, but until then, here’s a couple teasers (I have a couple more up on Flickr right now as well and I’ll keep adding to that too):

Afterwards, we went for a little drive to pick up some camera equipment in middle-GA on what *should* have been about a 2.5 hour trip. Now I don’t even really know how to describe how this trip ended up, but it took about 6 hours by the time we made it back. I’m working on putting together a map of just how far and where all we drove on the trip, but that’ll take a little while and I’ll make a new post for it when it’s done. It ended up being about a 275 mile trek (with an hour of sitting at a gas station) when all was said and done. Overall though, it was still a fun time.

Then Sunday, I dragged myself out of bed and back out to Turner Field for the autocross and to take more pictures. Once again, it was insanely hot and I think my body was sweating out the gatorade faster than I could consume it. After about 5 hours out there, I went home and pretty much collapsed for awhile. I still haven’t started looking through the pictures from the autocross, but I will once I finish with the ones from Saturday. Overall, I took 3205 pictures this weekend. Some may call it excessive, right now since I have to sort through them all, I just call it stupid.

After resting for a little bit, I went and saw The Devil Wears Prada. It was pretty good actually, and yes, I watch, and tend to enjoy chick flicks. I’m convinced most guys do, they’re just too scared to admit it. So whatever, I watched it, I liked it, end of story.

So I had to remove the chatbox from my site thanks to the lovely world of spammers. I don’t need their links to assorted fake designer clothing and purses. So until I can edit the code to disallow links, that’s gone. So leave me comments instead so I still feel loved.

The week so far hasn’t really been anything noteworthy. I’ve spent most of the time trying to recover the energy I lost to the sun this weekend, but I’m still tired. Movie night tonight, hopefully I can stay awake through it all. That’s all for now.
