I haven’t really been able to write an update in a week now. Things have been pretty crazy to say the least with work and life and everything else that’s going on, but overall, it’s going well. Getting back to work after Thanksgiving has proven pretty hectic, so I’ll try to be around a little more often in the upcoming weeks.
I’ve been getting a lot of traffic to my site from google searches about Sara Keene and Cookout for Keene and other things for the Shirlock Foundation and while I do …

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving enjoying time with those they care about and spends the evening napping off the effects of a good dinner. I’m planning on heading up to Stay’s house early this afternoon for dinner and such, so that should be a much needed break. Going to do my best to enjoy the long weekend and relax as much as possible. I’m sure there are plenty of football games to help me with that one.
Atlanta Habitat for Humanity got back to me about my group volunteer application …

A big thanks to Brady’s family today for having me down for a Thanksgiving meal. So begins the two weeks of Thanksgiving, ending with a meal here at my house on the 30th. Why pig out for one day when you can do so for two weeks, right? But anyways, just wanted to say thanks to them for a wonderful meal and a great time.
I’m watching the Patriots/Bills game right now while I’m doing a couple things for work and there’s something that’s bothering me about it. The commentary is …

The end of the work week was pretty long and stressful, so I’m enjoying the chance to sit at home, watch some football and get some things done around the house that I’ve been needing to do. The goal for today? Watch football, fill out some long overdue paperwork, and make progress on my pictures here on the website. It’s actually getting pretty close finally. All that’s left is to upload the new pictures that weren’t on the site currently and to clean up the album dating.
Other than work, there’s …

I find it hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next week already. I really don’t know where the majority of 2007 has gone, but it sure didn’t waste any time doing so. Thanksgiving will soon be gone, then Christmas will be here, and before we know it, it’ll be 2008. I guess it’s time to start planning things out for next year already. Something tells me it may be just as much of a blur.
So maybe it wasn’t the best idea to write a post that had a Windows popup …

The S410 is back in business. Just about 20 minutes of work with an obnoxiously small screwdriver and a little bit of brute force, there’s no more pesky E18 error and the camera was able to make a comeback appearance at movie night tonight. Hopefully it’ll stick around a little longer now.
I think Windows is finally doing things in spite of me. I have this tendency to install Windows updates and then never restart the computer. I’ll just click “Restart Later” over and over and over again. It’s just never really all …

I’ve been entertaining myself this evening, while watching the Discovery Channel and filling out paperwork, with FreeRice.com. It’s basically SAT-like vocabulary questions asking what a word means. It adjusts the level of words you get from 1-50 based on the words you get right. You go up one level for every 3 consecutive words you get correct and drop a level for each word you miss.
The premise is that for each question you get correct, 10 grains of rice are donated to the United Nations World Food Program through the …

Well today may mark the end of the life of a noble and trustworthy camera; my Canon S410. After almost 3 years of service, 75000 pictures, and countless trips and events, I got the E18 error while out on site surveys this morning. I’ll try fixing it later today or tomorrow, but it may be the end. Most of the pictures in my Friends gallery can be attibuted to that camera, so it has seen a great life. If I can’t fix it, it’ll be time to replace it…..any suggestions? If …

Tonight was the Cookout For Keene, hosted by the Georgia Tech football team and ADPi, for Sara Keene and supporting the Shirlock Foundation. It was a good time and the turnout was decent. All in all, I think there were 7-800 ticket sales made so we’ll see how that all works out in the end. It felt like the event went well as far as getting the word out about the Shirlock Foundation and from a fundraising perspective.
An overhaul and update of the Shirlock Foundation website is in the works …

We’re having a drought, right? And this guy uses 430000 gallons of water a month? That’s kind of pathetic really. I understand that it’s a huge house and all, but how is it possible to use that much water in a month. On average, I use 3200 gallons per month. That includes myself and Brady and movie nights and all that good stuff and we don’t really go out of our way to conserve water. So in one month, he uses as much as I use in over 134 months. …
