POTD: Watching U(sic)GA Lose

There are few things finer to watch than Georgia losing a football game, especially when it comes at the hands of Georgia Tech.  When you can’t actually be at the game however, you have to make sure that you’re not missing a second of the action.  This presents a little problem when there are multiple games that you need to be watching at the same time, as was the case with the GT vs. U(sic)GA game yesterday, as well as the VT vs. UVA game.  So to keep an eye …

POTD: May Be Icy?

Sometimes when nothing is going right, it just seems like things are in place to mock you.  This week, I’ve been working in Nebraska and Wyoming, and, while Wyoming has been pretty scenic and enjoyable, Nebraska just wasn’t all that great.  We happened to get here during a pretty solid storm that helped us stay consistantly miserable for two days.
About half of the work that we have to do at these sites is on the roof of the building and Nebraska just happened to have a storm with pouring …

POTD: Always 4:02

I fall asleep on the couch . . . a lot.  Partially because I enjoy laying downstairs and watching TV at night and also because my couches are pretty comfortable to say the least.  Either way, I’d say at least two nights a week, I end up falling asleep in the living room.  I never really worry much about setting an alarm, because I figure at the very least, Kristi would wake me up on the way by to head to work (I’m not the heaviest of sleepers).  And if …

POTD: On The Roof Again

I guess after awhile you start to take a desk job for granted.  So every once in awhile I guess it’s nice to get out, do some manual labor…..on a roof…..covered in bird droppings…..in the pouring rain.  Nevertheless, it’s been an interesting couple of days wandering from Detroit down through Michigan and into northern Ohio to do some installation work on truck stops.  The weather hasn’t really been the greatest, but when it’s not raining, the temperature has been favorable at least.  Hopefully I’ll get to head home on Friday …

POTD: Scared Hitless

When we started our softball team late summer, we weren’t really looking at winning many games.  Kristi demanded that I get a team together as one of her requirements for moving here and so I did.  We pulled as many people together that we could to meet the residency requirements for a Cobb league.  It didn’t really help that Kristi and I, though roughly 639 feet from the Cobb County border, actually live in Fulton County.
But we got the team together and played out the season and personally, I had …

POTD: Basement Progress

I know I promised updated photos of the basement awhile back and I finally got around to taking those last night. By the way, having your computer in a confined space that you’re sanding in is a bad idea. Every time I walk away from my keyboard today, my hands are covered in drywall dust. But nevertheless, I have one or two more spots to get sanded before the second coat of paint can go on and the first coat of paint on the ceiling. Maybe …

POTD: One Step Closer

So the drywall is hung and we’ve started painting in the basement.  The closet is painted black now for the TV area and I’ve touched up a lot of the outlet boxes to close up the space for the outlet covers.  Anyone want to help me move along the painting process?  It’ll get done soon, maybe by the end of football season at this rate.

POTD: Long Time Coming

It’s only taken roughly two years to get to this point, but the basement is finally wired and ready for drywall. Hopefully by the middle of this week, drywall will be done and I can move on to the next stages of the project.  Let’s just hope it doesn’t take another two years to get the next part done.

For the second time in a month, the flour container in my kitchen has inexplicably fallen onto the floor while unattended…..and somehow not break in the process.  But for today’s photo, I figured a picture of the aftermath is fitting.  Since I wasn’t here the last time it happened, I guess I could say that I believe you now, Stay.

Sorry for the lack of photos the last couple of days.  I’ve had some camera issues that have been holding me back from putting new ones up.  I’ll have to work on getting that replaced one of these days here I guess.  I’ve been pretty busy lately as usual.  After I got back from Minneapolis last Monday, Kristi came to town for the week to look for jobs and hang out and such.  My old friend, Clay Cumbie, was in town for a show as well so it was great …
