I figure corporations and celebrities write open letters to the public all the time (or I guess have people write them for them), so I should be able to do the same. As a lot of people know, I’ve been complaining a lot about the HOA for my neighborhood recently and their nonsense rules. For one, I have a real issue that the HOA here has absolutely no representation from the homeowners on it. Something just doesn’t seem right about that to me. I’m not going to use this point to complain, however, as it is an apology letter after all.

I’m writing this as an open apology to my neighbors for my continued violations of the HOA’s “rules” for the exteriors of our homes. I have a tendency to ignore the notices they send me…

How is a normal human being that has a normal M-F job supposed to have a package delivered to them? I mean, if they won’t leave a package at your residence, what possible ways are there to get the package delivered to you? I do most of my shopping online, so there are always packages of one sort or another being delivered to my house, so this isn’t the first time that I’ve felt the need to vent my frustrations with the various shipping methods out there. And okay, it’s not the second either.

So the story begins on September 21st, 2008 when I placed my order for my new computer. A Lenovo S10 for anyone that really cares. I’ll talk more about that in a post later, but this post isn’t about a happy process so I’ll save that…

We definitely need the rain here in Atlanta, so I tend not to complain when we get a good bit like we have today. I don’t feel as bad about being at work when it rains (though I was plenty late getting there this morning) and in general, a dreary day makes you appreciate the nice ones a little more, but I still have a few peeves about the rain overall.

Mainly, the fact that, when it rains, the stereo in my car doesn’t work for roughly the next three days. The highlight of our drought over the past year or so? I always have radio in my car. Sad, but true. The part that really gets to me the most is that my car has been to the dealer for service no less than 12 times and have mentioned this problem and it has been “fixed” 5 of those times. (I promise, I’m a car guy, it’s normal to keep track of these things.)

So I’m calling it a night from working on redoing the friends photo gallery section of my site. I have a ton of backlogged photos to get up, but I want to get a new gallery system set up first that makes it easier for me to upload pictures. The current system requires a lot of manual effort on my part, hence the reason that pictures don’t get posted as quickly as everyone would like.

A lot of people know that the strangest things happen to me in airports.  It’s never a trip without having some story about the airport to tell when I get back.  I’m sitting waiting for a flight home from Orlando now that the rest of my family has left (which I must say, is pretty depressing), but most of this stuff is from my trip down here earlier in the week.  So here’s my little vent about the airport from Tuesday:

It wouldn’t be a week if I didn’t write about my most favorite topic.  For those that haven’t figured it out yet, that would be shipping services.  I guess I rant about them so much that I’ve taken it upon myself to add another category to my postings just for “Rants”.  I’ll have to go back and reclassify everything that should fall into the category, but that’s no big deal.

Well, here I am at 9:25pm, and guess what� No FedEx today. Once again, it just doesn’t work like it’s supposed to. Unfortunately, the package was rather important for me to have before the weekend this time. So now I’m sitting here being annoyed at two of the main institutions in our country. Shipping and banking. But that’s another story for another time. I’m too agitated to write something long right now.

In an unusual gesture from myself, I’m giving the delivery services of this country one chance at redemption. My faith in the system of all shipping companies (except for DHL because they’re always great) rests on the shoulders of FedEx. I’m expecting a package tomorrow. A package that is rather important actually. A package whose contents I need to use this Saturday. So put your bets in now, will I actually see this package when I’m supposed to?

Once again, Comcast has left us without the internet so I’m writing this post in Notepad for later usage.  My gripes for Comcast today are however overshadowed by my complaints against the shipping services that we have.
